Anatoly Filatov had a tremendous run at the Triton Super High Roller Festival, shipping the $25,000 WPT Global Slam and taking home $1,882,000. He conquered a 389-player field.
Speaking about the win, Filatov said, “It feels amazing, being here in Jeju and getting this win is really special. I’m very thankful.”
Filatov defeated Calvin Lee heads-up to secure the title, with both players earning career-best cashes. Lee also walked away with a seven-figure payday, while Filatov notched his first Triton title and climbed to fifth on Russia’s all-time money list.
A series of strong hands—pair of kings, a full house, and three of a kind—left Lee struggling to recover. Even when he attempted to fight back, like betting aggressively after missing a straight draw on a tense final card, Filatov confidently called with just an ace-high, edging closer to victory.
In the final hand, Filatov called Lee’s last move with king-queen against Lee’s ace-four. A king appeared among the first three cards, sealing the win, the $1,882,000 prize, and Filatov’s first Triton title.
The last two players secured payouts in the millions, marking the most significant earnings of their careers. The final showdown lasted just over half an hour, with Filatov maintaining control and pulling ahead.
