Alok Birewar Wins The IPC Megastacks May 2022 100K High Roller

The much-anticipated 100K High Roller at India Poker Championship (IPC) Megastacks May 2022 has come to an end and we have a champion in Alok Birewar. After almost a four hour-long FT, Birewar finally beat Arsh Grover in the heads-up to claim the prestigious title and the shiny IPC trophy.

The ₹1,00,000 buy-in event witnessed 158 entries battling it out across two days. The final table saw eight players namely Siddhanth Kapoor, Alok Birewar, Arsh Grover, Anuj Yadav, Faiz Alam, Abhinav Iyer, Aly Goni, and Nikita Luther locking horns for the top prize of ₹43,32,400.

Abhinav Iyer was the first casualty on the FT, who busted at the eight spot for ₹4,97,200. The next player in line was Aly Goni, who cashed ₹5,64,000 for his seventh-place finish. Anuj Yadav busted at the sixth spot for ₹6,51,200. Nikita Luther and Siddhanth Kapoor followed at the fifth and sixth spot for ₹7,85,700 and ₹10,17,900 respectively. At the third spot, Faiz Alam exited the tournament with ₹16,72,400 paycheque.

When the play reached heads-up, Grover and Birewar took a few minutes before it began, and ended up making a deal. They divided the prize money and played heads-up for an additional ₹2.31 Lakh and the IPC title. Finally, it was Birewar who clinched the title and took home a total of ₹40,71,000 and kiss hello to the IPC 100K High Roller trophy.
