Alan Engel ‘Ari’ Wins His 4th WSOP Bracelet

Alan Engel ‘Ari’ did something jaw-dropping and unique over the weekend. He won a World Series of Poker (WSOP) online bracelet while playing at a live event at the North American Poker Tour (NAPT) Las Vegas 2024.

Engel was playing the $550 Cardplayer Lifestyle H.E.R.O.S. at the NAPT 2024 at Resorts World Las Vegas and was simultaneously playing the Event #29: $400 NL Hold’em Turbo at the ongoing WSOP online bracelet challenge, with a prize pool of $180,000. There were 500 entries for the online event, and 64 of them were in the money. Engel has confirmed that this was his largest online win. The live game that he was part of had 108 entries and a prize pool of $51,480.

Engel saw considerable money at both events, bowing out at #9 in the NAPT event, adding $1,510 to his name, and shipping the WSOP Online event, taking home his fourth WSOP bracelet and leading the prize pool with $34,200.

6 “Meekmills” $6,300
7 “ARRRR_INNNN” $4,500
8 “marioparty” $3,600
9 “Knickstape” $2,682

Engel was pretty excited about the win and made a post about it. With this win, he has added a fourth bracelet to his collection. He won his first bracelet in 2019 when he shipped Event #48: $2500 buy-in NLH Tournament and took home $427,399.

In 2021, he won his second bracelet when he stood first at the $10,000 buy-in Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better Championship, taking home $317,076. His third bracelet win came in in 2023 when he shipped $500 No Limit Hold’em – Turbo 6-Max (Online Bracelet Event #28) at World Series of Poker – WSOP ONLINE at WSOP.com (NV/NJ), Online, taking home $38,197.

Engel has been playing for decades, and according to Hendon Mob, the first time he saw cash in live poker was back in 2006, when he stood 40th in the winners’ list of Foxwoods Poker Classic, $9,700 + 300 Championship Event—No Limit Hold’em, taking home $12,525. The WSOP bracelet is one of the most prestigious prizes in the poker industry, and it is indeed a formidable achievement for Ari to have four of these in his name. It remains to be seen how many more such achievements he can add to his name.

The first bracelet dates back to the 1970s, and the jewellery has seen several changes and updates in the design since then. However, the value of the prize, both in amount and prestige value, has only increased over the years. Since 1976, every winner of a WSOP event has got a bracelet. Before that, players got a trophy, a sterling plate and whatever their share of the prize money was.
