Akshay Nasa finishes on top of PPL Autumn Leaderboard

The latest edition of the PokerBaazi Premier League (PPL) was a fun-filled one with plenty of prizes given away and guarantees smashed in almost every tournament through the entire week. Yesterday was the final day of play and after all results were declared, we also had the PPL Autumn Leaderboard winner.

While individual tournaments include a small luck factor for players, a leaderboard competition is something that shows the real calibre of a poker player, as you have to show consistency and perform well over a certain period of time if you want to emerge victorious.

That goes to show how good a player Akshay Nasa is turning out to be. He is always among the top names when you talk about the biggest tournaments and leaderboard competitions. Yesterday in particular, turned out to be a brilliant day for him, winning the 5 FOR 5 tournament on Spartan, taking away the Ace Race 2 Leaderboard on Adda52 and also topping the PPL Leaderboard.

He plays on PokerBaazi under the name ‘sherlock52’ and yesterday, he managed to make a last-minute jump on the leaderboard, overtaking ‘WhySoSerious’ and winning the competition by just 13 points. For this, he was awarded an additional cash bonus of INR 3 lakh out of the total of INR 10 lakh kept aside for the PPL Leaderboard winners.

Interestingly, everyone in the top nine of the PPL Autumn Leaderboard standings had at least one title to their name, while Anirban Das aka ‘pottysingh’ had three titles and both of Abhinav Iyer aka ‘griezmann’ and Ankit Jajodia aka ‘akj290’ had two titles each. However, Nasa didn’t ship a single tournament.

That just goes to show how consistent he was, beating everyone else without a single title to his name. He cashed out in 16 tournaments of the 33 that he took part in, which was much higher than anyone else in the series. He took home winnings of over INR 6.6 lakh in the series, plus the leaderboard winnings. Keep reading GutshotMagazine.com for more updates on India’s top poker tournaments.
