India is emerging as a significant contributor, with its gaming market expected to reach $3.9 Billion by 2025. Key factors driving this growth include increased internet accessibility, affordable smartphones, and a rising interest in gaming across diverse demographics.

By now, generations of Indians have played, or know someone who plays online games. With time, the concept of games has changed too, with online games, commonly termed as Massively Multiplayer Online Games (MMORPGS) becoming the new normal, as compared to the Single Player games that once dominated the market.

Online gaming is becoming an increasingly lucrative market in India, and several companies are now investing money and increasing their investments in earlier investments in gaming entities. Nazara Technologies, one of the most popular gaming companies in India, has been on a investing and procuring spree since at least last year.

The Indian Government is putting some support behind the gaming companies in India. Recently, the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi has said that he would like to see Indian developers lead the gaming industry boom. Earlier, a Karnataka Minister had said that he sees Karnataka being at the centre of the gaming boom in India and even globally.

For example, Bangalore-basedNazara Technologies has decided to expand its gaming business overseas.
