Ace Poker League Returns To The Philippines For APL Manila 2023, Featuring ₱25 Million GTD!

Ace Poker League (APL), which was previously known as Asia Poker League, has been one of the most renowned live poker brands in South Korea. They are finally headed back to the Philippines this year with their biggest event – APL Manila 2023.

The previous edition of Ace Poker League in the Philippines was played way back 2018 when Lester Edoc won the coveted APL Road Series Vol. 1 Main Event title taking down a field of 276 participants. APL will revisit the Southeast Asian nation, which has been a popular destination for poker for over a decade.

The highly anticipated event is all set to take place between 27th November to 3rd December 2023, with APL set to deliver its richest offering ever in the country. This week-long festival will be played at the 2Ace Poker Manila in Pasay City, Metro Manila.

It is worth noting that the upcoming APL event will feature 12 trophies with over ₱25,000,000 (~$447,350) in guarantee on offer. One of the key highlights of this series is the Ace Poker League Main Event, which boasts a ₱20 Million (~$357,880) GTD, the largest guarantee ever offered in the Philippines.

Players who wish to participate in the Main Event can do it via the four entry flights with a buy-in of ₱57,000 (~$1,020). The other events in APL Manila 2023 with hefty prize pools are the Mini Main Event and APL Tip-Off boasting of ₱3 Million (~$53,680) and ₱2 Million (~$35,790) guarantees respectively. Poker players from all around the globe are waiting to participate in this much awaited live poker series. After focusing on South Korea during the pandemic, APL is now back in the Philippines and focusing on establishing a strong hold in the Asian country.

This can be seen in the numbers as the Main Event prize pool rose from KR₩ 380,000,000 (~$320K) to KR₩ 2,181,600,000 (~$1.6 Million) from 2020 to their recent event at Seoul in October 2023. Citing the buzz and excitement, it remains interesting to see how APL Manila 2023 pans out.
