7 Indians progress to Day 2 of TIPS SPF Main Event!


King’s Casino in Rozvadov is just two-days away from concluding The Indian Poker Series (TIPS) hosting season 3. The casino floor is busy with the much-awaited TIPS SPF Main Event, wrapping up flights one after another. Yesterday hosted the fifth of the six starting flights. Apart from the showstopper, TIPS Deepstack crowned Russia’s Sergei Rozanov the latest champion pocketing €7,555 (~INR 5.90 Lakhs) in prize money.

Day 1E of the Main Event saw another set of 340 runners hunting for the advertised guarantee of €300,000 (~INR 2.34 Crore) after each one paid a buy-in of €220. Eventually, few hours of shuffling between chips and cards, the tournament field whittled down to 71 remaining survivors reserving their seats on Day 2. It was Israel’s Nitzan Orgad accumulating the largest stack of 889,000 ahead of Switzerland’s Beat Sigrist with 645,000 and a native player El Patron bagging 636,000, rounding up the top 3 of the sixth starting flight.

Indians have shown immense enthusiasm in the ongoing series and once again, two Indian countrymates Himanshu Dewan (picture below) bagged 550,000 chips along with Manish Goenka (picture below) with 236,000 will be joining Pratik Verma (74,000) and Jaydeep Dawer (197,000) from Day 1B and Kanishka Samant (409,000), Anveesh Munjal (253,000), and Mani Singh Guridutta (107,000) from Day 1C.

TIPS Deepstack

Running simultaneously with the Main Event was TIPS Deepstack €25,000 GTD which enrolled a total of 345 players (50 re-entries) after each one chipped in €130 buy-in. The top 39 places finished in the money taking home a min-cash of €260. It was Sergei Rozanov who defeated Netherland’s Milad Oghabian in heads-up who headed towards the payout desk for €5,024. While the Russian player boosted his poker bankroll with €7,555, seizing the title!
