6 Indians cash in WSOP Crazy Eights Event

It has been a good year for India so far at the 2018 World Series of Poker, with several cashes by various Indian and Indian origin poker players, and female poker player Nikita Luther winning a gold bracelet as well. With an increasing awareness of the sport in India, we could expect quite a few more bracelets in years to come.

Another event that saw participation from several Indian poker players was Event #62: $888 Crazy Eights No-Limit Hold’em 8-Handed, which guaranteed a whopping prize of $888,888 to the player who emerges on top of this mega field. A massive amount of 8,598 entries were recorded to the event across the four days of starting flights.

The tournament is still in progress and is down to the final 6 players. Many Indians took part in the tournament during the various days of starting flights, including the likes of Sikander Rajwade, Navkiran Singh, Pranay Kapoor, Anuj Jalote, Sanjay Taneja and Mayank Jaggi, who recently cashed big in a Wynn Classic tournament.

Due to such a vast field, 1,218 entries were paid out a minimum cash of $1,331, with the prize pool reaching close to $7 million. The names mentioned above unfortunately couldn’t finish in the money, but a total of 6 Indian players did get paid out in this tournament. See here (including rank and prize money):
