With a total of AUD 4.5 Million (INR 23.59 Crores) GTD, the circuit is the biggest WSOP Sydney Circuit yet which could easily be overshadowed by a higher amount, given the huge success of past WSOP Circuits.

Some of the events of the Sydney Circuit 2018 are :

It is the AUD 2,200 buy-in Main Event which will serve as the primary attraction of this festival. It boasts a seven figure GTD of AUD 2,100,000 (~INR 10.99 Crores), a figure not hard to achieve, looking at previous WSOP Circuit Sydney turnouts. Michael Kanaan was crowned as the champion at last year’s WSOP Sydney Main Event, beating a total of 1,066 other players to secure a AUD  297,241 (~INR 1.55 Crores) payout.

Gregory Chochon, the WSOP Director, said “We were hopeful WSOP Sydney would be one of the largest International Circuit stops, and The Star’s team has done a tremendous job in the promotion and operations of the event. All the players we have discussed the event with have really enjoyed the experience. The event is now one of the most anticipated Circuit stops of the year.

The most recent WSOP Circuit stop was in at Harvey’s Lake Tahoe Resort, Nevada. Scott Sanders, a California local, won the Main Event and took home USD 147,314 (~INR 1.06 Crores) in cash.

The WSOP Circuit Thunder Valley, held in September of this year, saw an Indian player, Ram Kakkar, signing up for the $400 Omaha Hi-Low and the $400 NLHE 6-handed Turbo. He had more success in the latter, finishing second, only a hair-length away from winning the title and a maiden WSOP gold ring. He cashed out a total of INR 7.4 Lacs in the end.
