3 Indians Cash in APPT Manila Saturday SuperStack

It has been a fantastic APPT Manila tournament series for Indian poker players, as we have been reporting news on Indians registering big scores in Manila right since the series began on 4th August. Yesterday was the final day of the series and plenty of Indian players were in the limelight yet again.

Apart from Chiraag Patel getting India a title, there were other good finishes as well. Kunal Patni finished runners up in one event while Sahil Agarwal finished runners up in another yesterday. If that’s not enough, 8 Indians bagged cashes in the mega APPT Main Event. Another major tournament that came to an end yesterday was Event #18 Saturday Superstack – PHP 3 million GTD, where 3 Indians finished in the money.

As the name suggests, the tournament kicked off on Saturday and the 2-day event concluded yesterday, with the advertised guarantee being smashed and quadrupled, as it has a few other times in this record-breaking series hosted by the Asia-Pacific Poker Tour (APPT).

The tournament had a buy-in of PHP 30,000 (~INR 39,300) and a massive field of 521 entries registered to this tournament, which took the PHP 3 million GTD prize pool up to a whopping PHP 13,644,990 (~INR 1,78 crore). This allowed the top 63 finishers to finish in the money, with a minimum cash prize of PHP 55,000.

Sahil Chutani and Jaydeep Dawer were among the top stacks at the end of the first day of this tournament and they continued their good runs on the final day. Chutani ultimately cashed out in 53rd place, for a prize of PHP 55,000 (~INR 79,900), while Varun Gupta chipped up well on Day 2, busting in 46th for the same prize money.

Making the deepest run of the 3 Indians who cashed out in this tournament was Jaydeep Dawer, who busted in 18th for a prize of PHP 130,000 (~INR 1.7 lakh). Dawer is a popular Indian pro who has cashes in Goa, Las Vegas, Macau and also in previous tournaments in Manila.

The APPT Manila has been a great series for Indians and you can keep reading GutshotMagazine.com for more updates on Indian poker players at tournaments across the world.
