2024 PGT Texas PLO Roundup Recap


Lawrence Chang triumphed in the inaugural PGT Texas PLO Roundup Main Event at Champions Club, emerging as the champion from a competitive field of 474 entries. Chang’s impressive performance earned him a career-best prize of $300,000 and solidified his place in poker history at this landmark event.

The PGT Texas PLO Roundup showcased thrilling action and highlighted the growing enthusiasm for pot-limit Omaha, with players from across the poker world converging to compete at the highest level. In the end, Chang proved best. He began the final day as the chip leader and successfully manoeuvred his way to the winner’s circle, besting Andrew Ige in heads-up play. Chang is a pretty popular poker player and has been seeing money for just under a decade. His first cash-out was in 2015 when he took home $4,171 at Event #11 of the WSOP Circuit – WSOPC Choctaw, Durant, ranking 85th. His PGT Texas win is his highest cash until date.

The PokerGO Tour (PGT) Texas is a prestigious series of high-stakes poker tournaments held in the Lone Star State, known for its vibrant poker culture. Hosted by PokerGO, a premier platform for poker content, the series attracts top professionals and passionate amateurs from around the globe. Events feature formats like No-Limit Hold’em and Pot-Limit Omaha, with sizable buy-ins and prize pools.

With 474 entries, the first-ever PGT Texas PLO Roundup Main Event generated a $1,422,000 prize pool to surpass the $1,000,000 guarantee. The top 55 spots made the money, with notable finishes by Stephanie Chung (11th – $29,000), Arthur Morris (15th – $18,000), Anthony Hu (18th – $14,000), Ben Ludlow (24th – $11,000), Ren Lin (26th – $11,000), Martin Zamani (32nd – $9,000), Josh Arieh (41st – $7,500), Alex Livingston (44th – $6,500), Jim Collopy (45th – $6,500), and Matthew Wantman (47th – $6,500).

Three $5,000 PLO High Roller events, which were won by Adam Hendrix, Curtis Muller, and Ronald Keijzer, took place during the inaugural PGT Texas PLO Roundup series.
