Progressive Rummy Rules

Progressive Rummy is a variant that can be played by two-eight players. Depending upon the number of players, this game requires two or three decks. To start off the game, it is important to decide who will be the dealer.

The dealer is decided after every player picks up a card from the deck, with the player with the lowest ranked card named as the dealer. After, the cards are dealt while the remaining cards are placed face down as the stockpile. One card is then placed face up to create the discard pile.

The player to the left of the dealer is the first person who gets to draw a card from the stockpile. However, it is worth remembering that players have to discard a card on the table everything they pick up from the stockpile or the discard pile.

Following the same pattern, players get 10, 11 and 12 cards in the 5th, 6th and 7th deal respectively.  They are required to make two sets and one sequence, one set and two sequences, and three sequences in the order of the deals.
