Three Rummy Games You Should Play In Your Next House Party

Diwali nights with family or friends in India are sure to start or end with a card game. The popular game in India is rummy which has several variants and is enjoyed by people of all ages. Some of the most popular variants you must try at your next house party are Indian Rummy, 13 Card Rummy and Gin Rummy. 

Indian Rummy

This game is actually a mix between Rummy 500 and Gin Rummy. Players are expected to make a valid set of 13 cards which is equally distributed among everyone. The game can be played among 2 to 5 players and the aim is to form groups of sequences and sets to meet the game requirements. Jokers can be used to form sequences. Gin Rummy 

This country is mainly famous in European countries is usually played between two players. Each player receives ten cards, and they are supposed to form sets of the same number of sequences of consecutive numbers of the same suit. If you have any cards that are not matched, then they are known as deadwood.

While playing this variant, remember that it is very risky to hold on to high-value cards for too long. By doing so, you increase the chances of scoring more deadwood points unnecessarily. Pool Rummy

Pool rummy is based on collecting a pool of money before the game was started. There are 2 major variations in this type of rummy, namely 101 and 201 pool rummy games. The game is entirely based on melding pairs and collecting the points off of those. The major difference between this and the other type of rummy is that the player who reaches the threshold of 101 or 201 points is eliminated till the last remaining person is found.
