The Celebration Sports Club Mumbai Card Carnival

The Celebration Sports Club located in Mumbai is all set to host a Card Carnival. The one-day carnival will include a rummy tournament for the members. The event will be hosted on Sunday, 2nd July 2023 at the esteemed club from 1 PM onwards.

The card carnival will be followed by LIVE musical night, cocktail and dinner. The event is open for all members and non-members of the club. Members of the club can enter and play the card carnival for ₹1,500, while non-members can participate for ₹2,200.

About the Rummy tournament

The rummy tournament at this Card Carnival will have tables of six players running. The game will be played in the 21 card rumy variant. The field of players will play till half the field has condensed, after which the tables will be merged. Eventually, the final six will battle it out on the final table, where the top three finishers get some amazing rewards. The game will also have consolation prizes.

Card Carnival Kicks Off!

The Card Carnival at The Celebration Sports Club, Mumbai, has kicked off amidst glamour and enthusiasm. With the room filled with players eagerly awaiting the cards to go up in the air, Convenor Subhash Udaipuri flagged off the event by explaining the rules. The event started with the Honorary Secretary of the Club, Hemant Nair, speaking a few words to welcome and encourage the players. 

 

 

 

Prizes At Card Carnival

The Card Carnival organisers have announced the prize structure for the event! The event will award the top three players with cash prizes. The top-place finisher will also get a shiny trophy to take home. 

  • 1st Prize: ₹25,000
  • 2nd Prize: ₹15,000
  • 3rd Prize: ₹7,500

The remaining three players on the final table, finishing fourth, fifth and sixth, respectively, will be awarded with a consolation prize worth ₹2,000 each.

 

Convenor Subhash Udaipuri Shares His Thoughts

We caught hold of Convenor Subhash Udaipuri, who is clearly the busiest man on the floor, to understand his insights about the event. He shared that they have been hosting such events for over 11 years now at The Celebration Club. We asked him about the response of players towards these events, and he says these card events usually get an overwhelming and encouraging response. 

Talking about the ongoing Card Carnival, he says, “There are 150 odd players who are playing on the tables with great enthusiasm.”

He also shared that the club regularly hosts these events around festivals like Diwali, Holi, Eid, New Year and others. So if anyone wants to join this event the next time, feel free to reach out to Udaipuri or directly reach out to The Celebration Club, Lokhandwala, Mumbai. 

The Field Is Down To The Top 60 Players

The field started with 120 players on 20 tables and has been reduced to half, with 60 players on 10 tables playing Round 2. They will play until the top 30 players before stepping out on a break, post which Round 3 will commence. 

Round 3 Begins

Round three has kick-started with a total of 30 players seated on five tables. The top two stacks from each of the tables will qualify for the next round.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Final Table set with the final 6

The final table of the Card Carnival, here, at The Celebration Sports Club, is set with the top six final tablist. These six players will now battle it out for the top price of ₹25,000. Here are the final tablists:

  4. Sunita Cetnani
  5. Manju Sadwani
  6. Sunil Alreja

 

 

Sunil Alreja Wins The Card Carnival

Player Sunil Alreja topped the final table to claim the top prize of ₹25,000. Vinod Talwar was the runner-up for ₹15,000. The second runner-up was Manju Sadwani who pocketed ₹7,500.
