The Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) is the local tournament of the state of Tamil Nadu. Eight different franchises use the names of different cities in Tamil Nadu to participate in this league. TNPL has been taking place every year since 2016 except in 2020.

TNPL decided to keep their first ever auction in 2023. Before the TNPL 2023 season, players used to be selected by drafts. As the 2023 season held the first-ever auction, the most expensive players of the 2023 auction automatically became the most expensive players in the tournament history. Sai Sudharsan became the most expensive player in TNPL history, going to the Lyca Kovai Kings for ₹21 Lakh.

Mokit Hariharan R S is a 23-year-old allrounder. Mokit is an ambidextrous bowler. He bowls right-arm off break as well as slow left-arm orthodox. While Hariharan is ambidextrous, he bats with his left hand.

Sandeep Warrier is a well-known Indian fast bowler. He has been a part of big franchises like Mumbai Indians and Kolkata Knight Riders in the past. Warrier was bought by Dindigul Dragons in the TNPL 2024 auction for ₹10.50 Lakh.

Vivek R is a right-handed batsman. He will join the Salem Spartans in 2024. He was bought by the team for ₹11 Lakh.

Thangarasu Natarajan is an Indian fast bowler known for his yorkers. He has represented Kings XI Punjab, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Dindiful Dragons, and Lyca Kovai Kings in the past. In the 2024 TNPL auction he was bought by the Tiruppur Tamizhans for ₹11.25 Lakh.

Abhishek Tanwar is a right-handed allrounder. He has played for Lyca Kovai Kings, Salem Spartans, and Siechem Madurai Panthers before. The Chepauk Super Gillies will be the fourth TNPL team he will represent. He was bought by the team for ₹12.20 Lakh.

Harish Kumar S has only ever played in the Tamil Nadu Premier League before. He is a right-handed allrounder. He has played for Chepauk Super Gillies and Lyca Kovai Kings before. He will now represent Salem Spartans in the 2024 TNPL after they bought him for ₹15.40 Lakh.

Sanjay Yadav was the second most expensive player in the 2023 TNPL auction. He is a left-handed allrounder who bowls slow left-arm orthodox. This year he is the joint most expensive player. Yadav has been a part of many franchises in the past including Kolkata Knight Riders, Mumbai Indians, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Nellai Royal Kings, and Chepauk Super Gillies. He will now join the Trichy Super Cholas, who paid ₹22 Lakh for him.

Sai Kishore R is a slow left-arm orthodox bowler. The 27-year-old broke the TNPL record for the most expensive pick. He was bought for ₹22 Lakh by Tiruppur Tamizhans. They will hope that Sai Kishore can lead them to a TNPL title.
