4 Capped Indian Players In TNPL 2023: The Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) has become a breeding ground for budding Indian cricketers. The tournament has allowed many young players to showcase their skills on a big platform. TNPL has also helped in finding new talent for the Indian cricket team. Here are three capped Indian players who have played in TNPL and made their mark.

Washington Sundar

Indeed one of the finest players in India, Sundar made his debut for India in 2017, and since then, he has been a regular member of the Indian T20I team. Sundar played for Tuti Patriots in the inaugural season of the TNPL and made a significant impact. In the first edition of TNPL, thanks to Sundar’s 459 runs in 12 games with the bat and 15 wickets with the ball, Tuti Patriots reached the finals of TNPL season one. The squad lost the game against Chepauk Super Gillies, but Sundar greatly impacted world cricket. Talking about current edition Sundar will be representing Madurai Panthers in TNPL 2023. 

Vijay Shankar

The so-called 3D player for team India had a recent run playing for his national side. Shankar has represented India in T20s and ODI. Shankar in TNPL played for Chepauk Super Gillies in the first season of TNPL and was their leading run-scorer. In the first edition of TNPL, Shankar scored 231 runs in 11 matches at an average of 28.87. Thanks to his performance, Chepauk Super Gillies reached the tournament’s semi-finals. Talking about current edition Shankar will be representing Idream Tiruppur Tamizhans in TNPL 2023. 

Ravichandran Ashwin

Ashwin has taken over 400 wickets in Test cricket and has also been a reliable performer in limited-overs cricket. In his initial days, Ashwin played for Dindigul Dragons in the second season of TNPL and is still part of that franchise. 

Varun Chakravarthy

Varun Chakravarthy became a sensation after his performance in the TNPL. Chakravarthy played for Madurai Panthers in the third season of the tournament, picked up nine wickets, and helped Madurai Panthers win the title. His performances in TNPL earned him a contract with Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
