I hope you all remember how destructive Matthew Hayden was. He was Australia’s finest opener and had dominated the white ball cricket the way no one ever had. The left-handed opener batsman scored 265 runs in the ICC T20 World Cup 2007 for Australia, where the veteran smashed four half-centuries with a highest score of 73 not out. Hayden only played four T20Is for Australia after the World Cup and scored 308 runs with a strike rate of 143.93.
No Sri Lankan batter had ever conquered world cricket as Dilshan did. Indeed, one of the finest batters in the world, Dilshan was one of the best openers in the world and had performed exceptionally well in the 2009 T20 World Cup. The right-handed batter had played seven innings in the contest, scoring 317 runs with a strike rate of 144.74. Dilshan smashed three half-centuries and was about to smash a century but was restricted to 96 runs. Dilshan had played 80 T20Is for Sri Lanka, scoring 1889 runs with an SR of 120.47. Dilshan had smashed 13 half-centuries and one century in his T20 career.
Mahela Jayawardene was one of the best players in the world and proved his domination in world cricket in the 2010 T20 World Cup. Jayawardene, in 2009 WC batted beautifully and scored 302 with an SR of 159.78, smashing two half-centuries and one century. In his overall T20I career, Jayawardene had played 55 games, where the former Sri Lankan captain had scored 1,493 runs with an SR of 1121. Jayawardene had smashed nine half-centuries and one century in his T20I career.
Shane Watson is one of the biggest names that has represented Australia in world cricket. The right-handed batter played in several batting positions for Australia and smashed every bowler he faced. In the 2012 T20 World Cup, Watson batted well and smashed 249 runs with an SR of 150.00. Watson smashed three half-centuries in the process with the highest score of 72. Watson had played 58 T20Is for Australia and had smashed 1,462 runs.
Virat Kohli is one of the most popular cricketers. The right-handed batter had slammed every bowler he faced. Kohli batted well in the 2014 T20 World Cup, scoring 319 runs with an SR of 129.14. With the highest score of 77, Kohli smashed 3,586 runs for team India with an SR of 138.08.
Tamim Iqbal is indeed one of the finest players that have represented Bangladesh. In the 2016 T20 World Cup, Iqbal smashed 295 runs, where the former Bangladeshi captain smashed one century and two half-centuries in the process. In his T20I career, Iqbal had played 78 games and scored 1758 runs.
No other Pakistani batter had ever dominated the game as Babar Azam did. Indeed, one of the world’s best batters, Babar, is also one of the best openers. Performing admirably in the 2021 T20 World Cup, Azam scored 303 runs with an SR of 126.25. Azam smashed four half-centuries in the contest. In his T20 career, Azam had smashed 26 half-centuries and one century.
