Cricket West Indies Announces Delayed Start For The 3rd T20I

Cricket West Indies (CWI) has revealed that the third T20I between West Indies and India has been delayed in order to provide enough recovery time for the players. Both the teams played each other in the 2nd T20I in St Kitts on Monday which saw the game being delayed by three hours due to the delay in team luggage arrival in St. Kitts from Trinidad. The West Indies cricket board had claimed the main reason behind the delay as ‘due to circumstances beyond their control.’

With both the teams squaring off merely 24 hours ago, the start time of the third T20I has been pushed back by 90 minutes. The 3rd T20I between India and West Indies which will be played in St Kitts on Tuesday was scheduled to be played at 10.30am local time [8pm IST]. Instead, the match is now set to kick start at 12pm local time [9.30pm IST], with the toss to take place half an hour before the first ball is bowled.

The CWI has released a statement sharing how both teams have agreed to a delayed start for the third T20I. The statement also went on to add how the change in timing has been done only after considering the schedule of the next two T20I games which will be played in Florida.

Cricket West Indies statement read as, “Following the delayed start on Monday, the teams have agreed to start the third Goldmedal T20 Cup match at a later time to ensure that the players receive adequate rest and recover time for the back-to-back matches in St Kitts and in consideration of the back-to-back matches to come in Florida.”

Tickets are still available from the stadium box office for the matches in St Kitts with mounds/grounds tickets at US$15/EC$40 and seats from US$30/EC$80, or can be purchased directly through Windies Tickets, presented by Mastercard at “tickets.windiestickets.com” to save direct to your mobile device.”

West Indies registered a much needed 5-wicket win over India in the second T20I to level the series 1-1. Both the teams will be eager to edge out each other at Warner Park on Tuesday before they end the Caribbean leg of the tour. After the third T20I, both the team are set play the last 2 matches of the ongoing white ball series at Lauderhill in Florida on August 6 and 7.
