Chirag Jani Hattrick Destroys MAH in Vijay Hazare Trophy 2022 Final

Chirag Jani rose upto the occasion, taking a hattrick for Saurashtra in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2022 final against Maharashtra. The fast-bowling all-rounder cleaned up Saurabh Navale on the first ball of the 49th over to get his first wicket of the game. After bowling quite well, the 31-year-old finally found himself in the wickets column during his last over.

How Chirag Jani got his hattrick? 

Saurabh Navale 13(14) was Jani’s first victim after the batter backed away too much and missed the yorker length as the ball crashed into the middle-stump. Right-handed batter Rajvardhan Hangargekar was late in bringing his bat down on his first delivery as the ball got deflected onto the stumps after hitting the back pad handing Jani his second wicket of consecutive balls.

Vicky Ostwal was the next man in as Chirag Jani loaded his run-up for the hattrick ball! The 31-year-old bowled a full delivery which Ostwal tried to flick away. However, the number 10 batter missed the shot and was hit low on the pads. Umpire Akshay Totre took some time before raising his finger on Chirag Jani’s appeal handing him the HATTRICK!

The whole Saurashtra team was delighted and ran up to the bowler to congratulate him for pulling off such a feat in the finals of Vijay Hazare 2022. Jani ended with figures of 10-1-43-3 and was one of the best performers for his team.
