BCCI Makes 3 Changes Ahead Of India vs South Africa T20Is

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has revealed that Mohammed Shami, who was affected by Covid-19 is yet to recover fully and remains sidelined for the upcoming India vs South Africa T20I series. Deepak Hooda missed India’s last T20 clash against Australia due to a back injury and is also being ruled out of participating in the upcoming 3 series against the Proteas, as confirmed by the Indian cricket board.

Umesh Yadav acted as Shami’s replacement in the T20Is against Australia remains in the Indian team and is set to be in the squad for the India vs South Africa T20Is. Meanwhile, middle order batsman Shreyas Iyer and allrounder Shahbaz Ahmed, are the latest additions to the Men in Blue squad.

The BCCI also spoke on Hardik Pandya and Bhuvneshwar Kumar with the duo not a part of the squad for the India vs South Africa T20I series in their statement. It read as,  “Hardik Pandya and Bhuvneshwar Kumar have also reported to the NCA for conditioning-related work while Arshdeep Singh has linked up with the squad in Thiruvananthapuram.”

The Indian cricket board was also recently presented an opportunity to play arch rivals Pakistan in the longest format of the game on a natural venue. According to the Telegraph, The England cricket board wanted to host Rohit Sharma led India against Babar Azam’s men in a Test series. BCCI has responded to the preposition saying,, “The chances of Indo-Pak bilateral series in the near future are “next to nil”. We only play Pakistan at multi-team events”
