Babar Azam Named As The ICC Men’s ODI Cricketer of The Year: The ICC ODI player of the year result is out. On Monday, Pakistan Skipper Babar Azam was named the ICC ODI Cricketer of the years. The skipper broke several records to achieve this feat. Babar Azam is 27 years old, and we are sure that the right-handed batter will reach considerable heights in his career.

In the contest against South Africa, Babar Azam was the second-highest run-scorer with 228 runs and was announced as the match play in both games. Azam might have played only six ODIs in 2021, but his contribution in the two series that Pakistan this year was significant. It was all because of his destructive batting, Pakistan thrashed South Africa by 2-1.

Azam’s best performance this year came in a losing effort in the final ODI against England. With the series already lost, Pakistan played for pride, and crucial ICC Cricket World Cup Super League points at the third ODI in Birmingham. Batted first, Pakistan recorded 331, with Babar scoring half of the team’s runs.

Walking to bat early in the innings, Babar skewered a position 92 run with Imam-ul-Haq to get Pakistan out of trouble. Initially, he was cautious in his approach, bringing up his half-century in 72 balls. He made up for it by mentioning the next fifty runs in just 32 balls: it was his second ODI century of the year.

With the milestone out of the way, he exploded in the overs of death and nearly batted during innings, coming out in the final over with 158, his highest ODI score.
