Taj Rummy: A Brand With A Mission

Despite rummy being one of the fastest-growing verticals in the online gaming sector, questions about its legalization still plague the country. Common misconceptions about the game have led to some states banning the online and live version of the game. Due to this, various brands in the industry are doing their bit to help change public opinion by educating the masses.

We approached Pariekshit Maadishetti, Managing Director of Grid Logic Group, to tell us a bit more about Taj Rummy and its efforts towards helping the online rummy sector. While talking about the idea behind the brand, Maadishetti said, “We were looking to expand as a business and though we had our back office in India, we never knew something like this existed back in 2012 while we were running our UK business. The rise of skill games and our presence here at the same time made this venture possible.“

Being one of the strongest advocates to help the online rummy industry become more regularized, Taj Rummy has sponsored many events that support this cause. “We usually are the title sponsors for all the gaming shows in India which are supporting our industry. You can take GaTo by IAMAI or SPiCE by Eventus – we are committed to help and support everyone to see India on a regulated stage,” said Maadishetti.

In the interview, we also talked about the different legal issues faced by the online rummy industry in the county and about its future during these legal setbacks. According to Maadishetti, there is a merit to regularizing the market and many federations are trying their best to help the government of India see that.
