Exciting Rummy Variants You MUST Try

Many love playing rummy for its simple rules and the enjoyable social interaction it provides. The game has been played between friends and families alike. But although Indian rummy is the most popular variant, playing it, again and again, can get a bit monotonous. Fortunately, rummy has a lot of variants that are as equally enjoyable as Indian rummy. We’ve listed five types of rummy that will help you enjoy the game even more.

Points Rummy

When playing rummy, it’s good to sometimes get back to the basics. Points rummy is one of the easiest and most basic formats of the game. Due to the version’s simplicity, it is recommended to people who have just started playing the game. It is also known as 80 Points Rummy. This version is popular among online rummy players as it is one of the faster types of rummy. Players play for points, which have a predetermined monetary value. The first player that has a valid declaration wins the game.

Deals Rummy

Another interesting type of rummy that players can play is deals rummy. In this game, players are given chips at the beginning of the deal. The deals are pre-decided and fixed. After the end of each game, the player with the highest number of chips is the winner. Losing players will then have to submit all their chips to the winner. Overall, it’s a refreshing and fun way to play the beloved game.

Pool Rummy

As the name suggests, pool rummy is played when all the players present at a table ‘pool in’ money to start the game. The sum of this money forms the total prize pool for that game. It is similar to points rummy and has two versions: 101 and 201 rummy. Players who cross a certain number of points are eliminated and the game ends when there is only one player left. This person will be declared as the winner.

101 Pool Rummy

In this version of pool rummy, players need to make their opponents cross 101 points. The moment a player crosses the 101-point mark, they will be eliminated and will have to leave the game. Through this process, the only player left standing in the game will be announced as the winner.

201 Pool Rummy

For 201 pool rummy, the concept is similar to the 101 pool rummy, except here players get eliminated after they collect 201 points. For more interesting content on rummy, keep reading GutshotMagazine.com.
