Indian Premier League’s (IPL) franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) has a massive fan following across the country. The team has seen many fans take their fandom to the next level, and often this craze is witnessed on social media. One fan has shown his passion for the team by capturing the essence of this IPL team amidst the Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations.
The popular festival is celebrated across India for 10 days starting Wednesday (31st August), this year wherein lord Ganesha is remembered every day. A certain RCB fan decided to merge his passion for the Faf du Plessis led IPL side along with Ganesh Chaturthi.
In a viral video trending on social media, the fan got a custom-made idol of lord Ganesha alongside former RCB star AB De Villiers. The idol, known as ‘RCB Ganesha’ is doing the rounds on Twitter after a video of it went viral on the social media platform.

At the start of the video, we can see a lot of RCB fans donning the team’s jersey and posing with the AB De Villiers inspired idol. Later, the group of fans travel with the idol in an open truck on the sounds of drums and fireworks as they begin their celebrations.
The viral video sees a montage of AB De Villiers in the famous RCB kit with the number 17 on the back hugging the Ganesha idol while holding a cricket bat with an MRF sponsorship on it. The South African star is one of the most admired cricketers in India and has a special place in the RCB fans’ heart for his antics with the team.
The Proteas star has scored 250 sixes and 431 boundaries while donning the RCB kit over the years. AB De Villiers has accumulated 5,162 runs in 184 games while basing a jaw-dropping strike rate in excess of 150. He has a great bond with India as well and is often seen calling the sub continent based country his second home.

Earlier, Former RCB skipper and India star Virat Kohli had taken to social media wishing his fans and followers a happy Ganesh Chaturthi. He was joined by fellow middle order batsman Suryakumar Yadav as well as wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant who wished everyone a happy Ganesh Chaturthi. All the three players are currently missing the celebrations in the country as they are currently playing the Asia Cup 2022 in Dubai.
