Mohammed Siraj shined with the ball for India, giving the hosts a perfect start by dismissing Najmul Hossain Shanto on the first delivery of Bangladesh’s first innings. Later on, the speedster was seen getting involved in a pretty heated against Litton Das.
The Bangladesh batter was seen walking, making gestures towards the Indian bowler after playing a defensive shot towards gully. Siraj also later started to walk towards the batter, which led to the duo exchanging a few words. The situation was so intense that the on-field umpire had to stop both players and ask them to walk back towards their respective marks and focus on the game.
Siraj, who was back at his run-up, gave a perfect reply by taking the wicket of the Bangladesh batter on the very next ball. The 28-year-old castled Litton Das on the very next delivery and went on to do a finger-on-the-lips gesture towards the departing batter. Virat Kohli was involved in giving Das a fitting walkaway following the incident.

Clinical bowling performance this! @imkuldeep18 & @mdsirajofficial specially superb 👏🏽👏🏽 Lots of time left in the Test. I’m guessing India will bat instead of giving follow on, if it comes to that. #BANvIND pic.twitter.com/2UF1sfzyxs

So, thanks to Siraj, end of Day 2 looks like this one is in the bag. Awesome from Kuldeep too — back in the XI & back in the rhythm — right from the word go.

Siraj ended the day with solid figures of 3/14, taking the crucial wickets of Shanto, Zakir Hasan, and Litton Das. Speaking with media at the end of the day, the Indian speedster revealed his conversation with Das. He said, “No, nothing. I said, ‘Ye T20 format nahi hai, ye Test cricket hai, Play sensible cricket.” Those words translate to this isn’t T20. This is Test cricket. Play sensible cricket.

Riding on the performances of Siraj and Yadav, India folded up Bangladesh’s innings at 150 runs, taking a lead of 254 ahead of the third innings of this game.
KL Rahul decided against a follow-on and walked out to bat once again. India ended up declaring at 258-2, with Gill and Pujara scoring their respective hundreds. At the end of the third day, Bangladesh sits at 42/0, needing 471 runs to win this game. It remains interesting to see how the game fares in the next two days.
