Sarfaraz Khan is all set to be rewarded for his consistent performances with the young batter rumored to earn his maiden national team call up. He is expected to be a part of the Indian team for the upcoming two-match Test series against Bangladesh.
The Mumbai opener has been a solid performer in domestic red-ball cricket over the past few years amassing heaps of runs in the Ranji Trophy. Given his solid performances, Khan is rumored to be in the mix of being called up for the Indian Test team later in November.
A BCCI source was quoted by Times of India saying, “It’s impossible to overlook him now. His performances are speaking about his huge ability and putting pressure on many in the Indian team. He will be a certainty when the selectors pick the Indian team for the Bangladesh Test series. He did well for India A last year in South Africa and he’s an excellent fielder.”

After his innings, Sarfaraz Khan was seen talking with national selector Sunil Joshi alongside Harvinder Singh. He was quoted saying, “This is the first time I spoke to the selectors. I felt good after speaking to Joshi and Harvinder sir. They were saying that despite Chandu sir having blocked my sweep shot, I showed patience and didn’t play that shot.”
He added, ” I was taking singles and didn’t come under pressure. They praised my knock. As far as Team India’s selection is concerned, I’m working hard. My focus is to only score runs. Every person has dreams. It will happen if it is written in my destiny.”
Sarfaraz Khan is currently playing for Mumbai in the Ranji Trophy final against Madhya Pradesh in Bengaluru. Mumbai is the most successful team in the tournament, having won it for its 41 times in the past. He will be eager to help Amol Muzumdar’s men lift it for the 42nd time this week.
