Sarfaraz Khan continued his purple patch of form as the Mumbai star scored yet another hundred in the ongoing domestic season. The 24-year-old registered his 4th century of the tournament, in the Ranji Trophy 2022 final against Madhya Pradesh.
The former India U-19 star, has been one of the most consistent players in the domestic circuit. He amassed jaw-dropping numbers scoring 928 runs in six matches back in the 2019-20 season. The right-handed batter currently finds himself leading the run scoring charts of the ongoing Ranji Trophy 2022 season. With over 930 runs already to his name, Khan has already topped his record of the 2019-20 season.

The young Mumbai batsman shone for the 41-time champions this year. He entered the game scoring over 800 runs before the start of the final. Khan’s top score of the tournament came against Saurashtra when he scored 275 runs while his 153 came against Uttarakhand. The 24-year-old also registered 165 against Odisha this season. Before the ongoing clash against Madhya Pradesh, Khan had scores of 275, 63, 48, 165, 153, 40, 59*, 50* amid Mumbai’s journey this season.
Khan reached the three-figure mark on full tossed up delivery by Kumar Kartikeya just outside off stump. The 24-year-old hit a boundary, sending the ball down the ground to get his century. Taking 190 balls to score his 4th hundred off the tournament, Sarfaraz Khan punched the air in delight. The Mumbai batter got emotional and was seen in tears while celebrating and acknowledged the appreciation from his teammates. His celebration also became a talking point with Khan replicating Sidhu Moosewala’s signature step the ‘thappi’.

Khan has been one of the key players for Mumbai in 2022. He currently averages over 150 in the ongoing domestic season. The 24 year old has played a vital role for Amol Muzumdar’s side and will be keeping on helping Mumbai pocket the Ranji Trophy title for the 42nd time in their history.
