M1 vs KOL Match Update, Mumbai Needs To Perform Better Against KKR!

M1 vs KOL Match Update, Mumbai Needs To Perform Better Against KKR: Defending champions Mumbai Indians, forgetting the failure of the previous match, look to put up a strong performance against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in their Indian Premier League (IPL) match to be held here on Thursday, taking inspiration from skipper Rohit Sharma.

Mumbai played in the last match without Rohit and star all-rounder Hardik Pandya. Both of them were rested as a precautionary measure with minor injuries. Chennai Super Kings defeated Mumbai by 20 runs in this match.

According to Mumbai head coach Mahela Jayawardene, Rohit will be available for selection in the match against KKR. KKR, on the other hand, registered a thumping nine-wicket win over Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in their first match of the second leg of the league. He will be determined to continue with his performance.

Fourth-placed Mumbai, with eight points on the points table, started the second leg in their familiar fashion with a slow start but now half the tournament is done and the defending champions need a win to stay in the top four.

Rohit has been in great form for some time now and is expected to maintain it to help the batsmen rectify the mistakes they have committed against Chennai.

Sno Team Pld Won Lost Net RR Pts
1 Chennai Super Kings 9 7 2 0.547 14
2 Delhi capitals 7 5 2 1.263 10

6  Punjab Kings 9 3 6 -0.368 6
7  Kolkata Knight Riders 8 3 5 -0.494 6
8  Sunrisers Hyderabad 7 1 6 -0.623 2

Chasing a target of 156 against Chennai, none of the Mumbai batsmen could perform well except Saurabh Tiwari. On the other hand, a spectacular win in the first match would have boosted KKR’s morale. KKR, who struggled in the first leg, looked completely changed in this match against RCB.

The Eoin Morgan-led team is in sixth place in the points table. He bowled brilliantly against RCB under mysterious spinner Varun Chakraborty and all-rounder Andre Russell and the latter chased down the target with 10 overs to spare from the innings of Shubman Gill and Venkatesh Iyer.

KKR had shown their aggressive attitude in this match and they will take the field with the same aggression against Mumbai.

The teams are as follows:
