The highly anticipated IPL 2023 auction is just a few weeks away, with several cricketers across the globe registering themselves to be part of the mini-auction. Many players will be aiming to get their first IPL contract when their name goes under the hammer at the auction, which will take place on 23rd December 2023.
Quite a few uncapped Indian players like Vasuki Koushik, Ankit Bawne and Samarth Vyas are expected to go big with international star Sikandar Raza being one such name that is expected to send shock waves in the highly awaited IPL mini-auction in Kochi. After bouncing back from his bone marrow surgery, the Zimbabwe star has shone in various T20I leagues across the world. He fared well in various tournaments, from Abu Dhabi T10 League to the Lanka Premier League, amongst others.

Sikandar Raza has played 152 T20 matches scoring over 3038 runs at an average of 24.11. With a strike rate of 129.82, the Pakistani-born cricketer is a solid option citing his ability to bowl as well. The Zimbabwe star has 77 wickets in 112 innings while registering an economy of 7.27.
Having played for various teams in the shortest format of the league, Raza has a ton of experience when it comes to T20 cricket. He was one of the most eye-catching players at the recently concluded ICC T20 World Cup 2022 and will surely gather a lot of eyeballs at the auction.
Many teams will look to have an all-rounder like Sikandar Raza on their side. According to our estimate, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Lucknow Super Giants are expected to make a move for the 36-year-old star. The cricketer can attract a lot of bids and is expected to walk away with a lucrative contract following his exploits in Australia.
Raza, who is currently at the fag end of his career, will look to make a name for himself in the most competitive cricket league across the globe. He will aim to prove himself in the biggest franchise-based cricket tournament while walking away with a ton of money. It remains interesting to see how he will fare well in the Indian Premier League.
