IPL 2023 Auction: 3 Players Rajasthan Royals Could Bid For

Rajasthan Royals (RR) missed out on winning the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 by a whisker, with the Sanju Samson-led team losing in the tournament’s final. Despite losing to Gujarat Titans in the final game, RR had a solid season last year, with the team having a lot of positives to look forward to ahead of the next season.

Ahead of the IPL 2023 auction, Rajasthan Royals got rid of a few underwhelming performers like Daryl Mitchell, James Neesham, Nathan Coulter-Nile, and Karun Nair. However, they have maintained a strong core of Sanju Samson (C), Jos Buttler, Yuzvendra Chahal, and R Ashwin and will look to rope in some additional stalwarts during the IPL 2023 auction. With a purse of 13.20 crores, RR have a decent kitty that could help Samson propel his side over the final hurdle in IPL 2023.

Nicholas Pooran

Nicholas Pooran is all set to be a part of the upcoming IPL 2023 auction, which will take place in December after Sunrisers Hyderabad did not include in his retention list. Despite going through a difficult patch, there is no doubt about Pooran’s talent.

The former West Indies captain is expected to command heavy prices citing his fearless batting style. He could be the perfect fit for RR, who are looking for a reliable finisher. Riyan Parag has not proved to be an effective choice, and his figures RR could invest and strengthen their side.

Jason Holder

Yet another West Indian finds his name on the list after Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) released him before the IPL 2023 auction. The WI all-rounder played 12 games for KL Rahul’s men scoring just 58 runs while recording an economy rate of 9.42. Despite having an off-season and being released by LSG, many teams will still look to bid for him at the IPL 2023 auction.

Holder will act as a solid replacement for Jimmy Neesham after the New Zealand all-rounder failed to do well. The West Indian star boasts solid experience adding firepower to the fast-bowling unit of Trent Boult and Prasidh Krishna. He is also an ideal candidate as his batting will bolster the team’s batting unit, which consists of Jos Buttler, Shimron Hetmyer, and Sanju Samson.

Narayan Jagadeesan

Narayan Jagadeesan remains the talk of the town after the opener shattered a ton of records with his batting performances in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2022. He is one of the hottest properties that will be a part of the upcoming IPL 2023 auction after Chennai Super Kings (CSK) did not include him in their retention list.

Jagadeesan’s ability to play in the middle order is a much-needed solution for Rajasthan, who saw the likes of Karun Nair and Rassie van der Dussen fail last year. The team management will surely be on the lookout for a quality middle-order batter and will aim to get Jagadeesan into the mix, citing the player’s present form.
