Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) had a memorable debut season in the Indian Premier League (IPL) after the team reached the playoffs in their first campaign under the leadership of KL Rahul. They will look to do better next year and have already made a few changes in the team before the IPL 2023 auction.
LSG is aiming to create a balanced squad and has taken steps towards it, with the Uttar Pradesh-based franchise releasing a few players ahead of the IPL 2023 auction. The KL Rahul-led side has released the likes of Jason Holder, Dushmantha Chameera, Andrew Tye, Ankit Rajpoot and Evin Lewis before IPL 2023 auction.
Shahbaz Nadeem and Manish Pandey were let go by the franchise, who now have a purse worth INR 23.35 crore to build their team. With ten slots to fill and four overseas openings available, LSG will head into the IPL 2023 auction with a decent squad and will look to boost their team at the auction on 23rd December.

LSG will look for a fast bowler after the franchise released Holder and Chameera ahead of the IPL 2023 auction. The Gautam Gambhir mentored site would aim to sign someone who can also bat, making the team prefer a fast-bowling all-rounder.
In such cases, Ben Stokes pops up as the perfect candidate for LSG to rope in during IPL 2023 auction. The English international can bat in the middle order and can also bowl at the death or the start of an inning. He showcased his skill in the ICC T20 World Cup, helping the team manage tricky par run-chases and signing Stokes would solve multiple problems for LSG. With a solid purse to compete with the 31 year old, we expect Lucknow Super Giants to go hard for him.
