The Rohit Sharma-led India side registered a comprehensive five-wicket win over England at Manchester on Sunday. The win over Three Lions saw the Men in Blue win the three match ODI series by a 2-1 margin. It has also provided them a tremendous boost in the ICC ODI team rankings.
The Men in Blue now find themselves on the third spot in the latest rankings, riding on the massive victory in the final ODI on Sunday. The Indian team edged past arch-rivals Pakistan, who earlier sat in the top 3. They are now forced to slip down to the fourth position as they sit with 106 points against their name.
India now slots above the Men in Green with 109 rating points, just three points more than their sub continental rivals. It is a massive improvement for the Men in Blue who were slotted fifth on the ICC ODI rankings before the start of the 3-match England series.

Currently, New Zealand find themselves at the top of the table with the Kiwis sitting at 128 rating points. The Black Caps recently registered a massive 3-0 whitewash against Ireland to solidify their position at the top. They now hold a seven-point lead over second placed England.
The Three Lions have pocketed 121 points so far and managed to clinch onto to the 2nd spot despite the recent series loss. However, Jos Buttler’s side has a chance to improve their score when they take on South Africa in the upcoming series. The Proteas are set to take on the reigning ODI world champions in 3 games which will be followed up by 3 T20Is and a 3-match Test series.

The ICC ODI rankings could also see a massive change if South Africa get the better of England. Currently ranked sixth on the rankings, the Proteas find themselves just seven rating points behind Pakistan. They boast a chance of toppling the Men in Green and moving to the fourth spot. However, it could only be possible if they manage to register a clean sweep and whitewash England in the upcoming three-match series.
India on the other hand will be looking to gain some points and remain on the number three slot. The Men in Blue are set to take on West Indies in a three-match ODI series later this month and will be hopeful of a good outing in the Caribbean. Pakistan on the other hand currently square off against Sri Lanka in 2 Tests. Their next ODI outing is set to be against the Netherlands in August.
