ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2023: Leading Run Scorers

The ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2023 kicked off in South Africa, with the eighth edition of the tournament beginning on 10th February 2023. Ten teams will compete for the coveted trophy, with the hosts taking on Sri Lanka in the first match of the tournament.

There have been seven editions of the showpiece event since the inception of the Women’s T20 World Cup in 2009.  The 2023 edition of the tournament will have thrilling action over 17 days, with icons like Ellyse Perry, Harmanpreet Kaur, Stafanie Taylor, Meg Lanning, and Suzie Bates featuring in ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2023. 

Teams have been divided into two groups, with each side scheduled to play every opponent once in their group. At the end of the group stages, two teams from each group will qualify for the semifinals, with the top-ranked team of one group taking on the second-ranked team of the other group. Many records have been created in ICC Women’s T20 World Cup, while many are on the way to being shattered with quite a few batters on the verge of setting new standards in South Africa.

Suzie Bates has 929 runs against her name before the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2023. She is on the verge of becoming the first women cricketer to register 1,000 runs in the tournament’s history. The New Zealand batter needs 71 runs to break the milestone. West Indies’ Stafanie Taylor (881) and Australia’s captain skipper Meg Lanning (843) could also breach the four-figure mark in the competition.
