Hardik Pandya is all set to lead the Indian team after the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the squad for India’s T20I series against Ireland. The two-match series is all set to kick-off on 26th June and will see Pandya captain the side with Bhuvneshwar Kumar named his deputy.

Pandya is all set to take charge of the Indian team in the shortest format of the game after his recent success in the Indian Premier League (IPL). The Gujrat Titans (GT) all rounder managed to lead the newly formed IPL franchise and lift the coveted trophy in their maiden season.
The GT skipper not only managed to captain the team to a title win but also ended up amassing 487 runs while taking eight wickets in the tournament. He also played a crucial role in Gujarat Titans’ win against Rajasthan Royals in the IPL 2022 final.

The upcoming series against Ireland sees Rahul Tripathi earn his maiden national team call-up after missing out on joining the Rahul Dravid coached side in their ongoing matches against South Africa. Suryakumar Yadav has also been called up to the national team with the middle order batter set to make his return from injury with Rajasthan Royals skipper Sanju Samson also given a chance to make a comeback in the national team.
Umran Malik and Arshdeep Singh have retained their spots in the national side. They are currently a part of the Indian team taking on ongoing South Africa in the five-match series continues to be a part of the T20 the squad. Both the players are yet to make their debut with the national team but are expected to get an opportunity to feature for India in the remaining two games. The likes of Venkatesh Iyer and Deepak Hooda also continue to be a part of the Indian squad for the upcoming tour.
India is currently taking on South Africa in an ongoing five-match series with the hosts trailing 1-2. Rishabh Pant led side managed to bounce back and registered a massive 48-run win at Vishakhapatnam after losing the first two games.
The likes of Rohit Sharma Virat Kohli and KL Rahul are not a part of the Indian team for their Ireland series with the stars set to be in England and feature in the sixth and final Test. The six-match Test series was stopped abruptly last year and will be completed with the final Test at Edgbaston in July.
