Tait achieved this feat back in 2011 when he was playing for Rajasthan Royals. The fact that this record is yet to be broken more than a decade after it was set just goes to show how fast Shaun Tait’s fastest IPL delivery was.

2. Lockie Ferguson (157.3 Kmph)

Lockie Ferguson represented Gujarat Titans in IPL 2022. He won the tournament with them after beating Rajasthan Royals in the final. One of his deliveries reached the speed of a whopping 157.3 Kmph, making it the second-fastest ball ever bowled in Indian Premier League history. While Ferguson’s 157.3 Kmph is still shy of Shaun Tait’s 157.71 Kmph delivery, reaching a speed of over 157 Kmph is an achievement in itself for any fast bowler.

3. Umran Malik (157 Kmph)

Umran Malik showed his potential as a pacer and displayed just how fast he could bowl in the 2022 Indian Premier League season while playing for Sunrisers Hyderabad. The young Indian bowler surprised everyone with his raw pace, consistently reaching speeds greater than 150 Kmph. He has the record for the third-fastest ball bowled in IPL history. Incidentally, he is also the fastest Indian bowler ever.

4. Mayank Yadav (156.7 Kmph)

Mayank Yadav is a new and rising superstar. Most people had not even heard his name before the 2024 season of the Indian Premier League. The young bowler is still just 21 years old but has already impressed many around the world with his pace. Mayank Yadav made his debut in IPL 2024 against Punjab Kings. In this game, he bowled the fastest ball in IPL 2024. He clocked a speed of 155.8 Kmph, making him the fifth-fastest bowler in Indian Premier League history.

The youngster also took home the Man of the Match award in his debut game. He took three wickets in his four-over spell and conceded just 27 runs. He followed this performance with another amazing performance against Royal Challengers Bangalore. The youngster took three wickets and conceded just 14 runs in his four overs against RCB. Nortje is regarded as one of the fastest bowlers in IPL history, and this ball proves this. He also bowled a 155.4 Kmph ball in the same match, this time picking up the wicket of Jos Buttler.
