ENG vs IND MPL Prediction: Fantasy League Playing 11, 2nd Test Match Prediction & Fantasy Cricket Tips: England won the toss and chose to bat. But this decision did no good as England had a mediocre start.. Opener Rory Burns lost his wicket without opening the account. Burns fell victim to fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah in the very first over of the innings.
Bumrah took out four balls and then put the fifth ball inside. Burns dodged the ball but not before it hit the pad. Bumrah appealed for LBW and the umpire raised a finger. However, Burns did not seem to agree with the decision and decided to seek a review, to no avail.
The first session was in the name of the Indian team. The Indian bowlers kept the pressure on the English batsmen during this period. England lost Rory Burns (0) and Jock Crowley (27). Bumrah and Mohammad Siraj took one wicket each for India. At lunch, England’s score was 61/2 in 25 overs. Dominic Sibley was playing on 18 and captain Joe Root on 12.
Just like the first session, Indian bowlers did not give England a chance to score fast in the second session. India sent two England batsmen—Dominic Sibley and Jonny Bairstow to the pavilion. Mohammad Shami took both these wickets. However, Root was holding his end firmly.
Till the tea break, England’s score was 138/4 in 50.2 overs. Root was playing on 52 runs. England won the toss and invited India to bowl first. After the toss, the English captain said that their team will bat first. Root further added that there is little movement on the wicket. If the team starts well in the first hour, they can use it to their advantage. It’s exciting to play a big series like this. Hope we do well.
At the same time, Indian captain, Kohli said, “Last time England decided to bowl first and we wanted to bat first. We would like to do well with the ball in the first session and try to get some early breakthroughs. It is rare to win in England and Australia in the same year.”
India and England clashed in test matches earlier this year. When the English team visited India, they played in a four-test series in the February-March period. England won the first test by 227 runs, but later the Indian team made a spectacular comeback to take the series 3-1. India won the second test by 317 runs, the third match by 10 wickets and the fourth by an innings and 25 runs. Now India will be tested for the English conditions. Indian team last played a test series in England in the year 2018, in which it had to face a 4-1 defeat at the hands of the British.
