The Australian cricket board has announced their squad for the upcoming three-match One Day International (ODI) series against Zimbabwe and New Zealand. The team management has made several changes to the squad, dropping a lot of players that were part of the recently concluded tour to Sri Lanka.
Australia’s squad for the upcoming ODI series against Zimbabwe and New Zealand sees senior pacer Pat Cummins being rested for both the tours. It is reported that the Aussie test captain has not been selected in order to keep him fresh for the ICC T20 World Cup which will be followed by a huge Test summer.

Adam Zampa, who missed the recently concluded games against Sri Lanka and has made a comeback to the national team. The leg spinner was on paternity leave and is all set to return for the white ball matches against Zimbabwe and New Zealand.
His inclusion to the team will bolster Australia’s spin ranks alongside the return of Ashton Agar. The 28-year-old suffered from a side strain and had to miss four ODIs against Sri Lanka. Alongside Agar, Marcus Stoinis is also named in the team for the upcoming back-to-back white ball series.
The Aussie all-rounder also suffered from a side strain during the recently concluded tour against Sri Lanka which saw him fly home early. Sean Abbott also returns to the squad and is expected to replace Cummins after he missed the entire tour of Sri Lanka due to injury.

Cricket Australia’s 15-man squad for the six ODIs sees a lot of players being left out of the squad. The likes of Jhye Richardson, Matthew Kuhnemann, Josh Inglis and Mitchell Swepson, who were selected for Sri Lanka will miss the games against Zimbabwe and New Zealand.
Travis Head will miss both the series as with the wicket keeper is expecting the birth of his first child. Apart from Head, Australias’ assistant bowling coach Daniel Vettori has also not been included for the assignments. The former New Zealand captain is set to stay with his the Hundred team Birmingham Phoenix as their head coach during these games.
The first three matches against Zimbabwe will be played at the Riverway Stadium on 28, and 31 August, followed up 3rd September. Later, the three ODIs against the Kiwis are scheduled to be played at the Cazalys Stadium in Cairns on 6, 8, and 11 September.
