Alvaro Morata is a Spanish professional footballer who currently plays for Serie A side AC Milan. Morata has played for some of the best clubs in the world but has always been unable to settle at any particular club. The Spanish striker keeps moving from one club to another, and while he does end up performing quite well for them, he never stays for too long in one place. This article talks about Alvaro Morata’s net worth and the salary he earns while representing the Italian club AC Milan.
Alvaro Morata’s footballing career started when he joined the youth academy of Atletico Madrid in 2005. He spent a couple of years playing for the Atletico Madrid academy before moving to Getafe in 2007. His development caught the eye of Real Madrid, and after spending around the year with Getafe, Morata joined Real Madrid’s youth academy in 2008. He developed with the youth squad from 2008 to 2010, honing his skills and developing into a better player. It was at Real Madrid that Alvaro Morata got the chance to make his senior football debut.
Morata made his professional debut with Real Madrid Castilla in a friendly match with Alcorcón, scoring the only goal of the game. His Segunda Division B debut came on 29th August against Coruxo, whereas his first-team debut for Real Madrid came on 12th December 2010 when he was brought on as a substitute for Angel Di Maria in the 88th minute of a 3-1 La Liga win at Real Zaragoza. While the Spanish star struggled to establish himself as a starter, he got quite a lot of opportunities for the club and managed to make 52 appearances in all competitions before leaving.

Alvaro Morata signed up for the Serie A side of Juventus on 19th July 2014. He became a regular player for the Italian side and made 93 appearances for them in all competitions across 2 seasons. However, his standout performance came when Juventus played Morata’s former club, Real Madrid, in the UEFA Champions League semi-final. He scored two goals against Madrid across two legs but did not celebrate against them. The Los Blancos, impressed by his performances, decided to bring him back to Spain ahead of the 2016/17 season.

The Spanish star’s return to Real Madrid lasted for just one season before he left to join the English Premier League side Chelsea. Morata did decently well for the English side, but out of the three years he was supposed to spend at the club, he spent just 1.5 with Chelsea, while the other 1.5 years were spent on loan to Atletico Madrid. While it was an 18-month loan, Atletico confirmed his signing on a permanent basis on 6th July 2019, announcing that he would officially be confirmed on 1st July 2020 after his loan ended.
While this was supposed to be the plan, Atletico Madrid decided to send Morata on loan at the start of the 2020/21 season. Alvaro Morata spent two years on loan at Juventus before returning to La Liga to represent Atletico Madrid for another two years. His most recent move came when he joined AC Milan ahead of the 2024/25 season. This is another one of the multiple contracts Morata has received throughout his career, and it is with the help of these professional contracts that he has been able to accumulate a net worth of around $40 Million.

Alvaro Morata’s latest contract was given to him by Serie A side AC Milan, who decided to sign him ahead of the 2024/25 season. Morata signed a four-year contract with AC Milan on 19th July 2024, which will see him stay with the club till the summer of 2028. This makes him the highest-paid player at the Italian club, ahead of the likes of Ismael Bennacer and Rafael Leao. This contract earns Morata nearly $8.8 Million per year, which roughly translates to a salary of around $170,000 per week.
The Spanish star moved to different teams all around Europe throughout his career, but he technically represented only four teams before joining AC Milan. This is because the Spanish star kept getting transferred between Real Madrid, Juventus, Chelsea, and Atletico Madrid. Morata has now joined the Italian club AC Milan, and he hopes that he will remain with them for a long time and create a legacy at the club that will be remembered for many years to come.
