Another Gill masterclass against the West Indies came on 27th July 2022, this time in Port of Spain, the capital of Trinidad and Tobago. India batted first, and Gill was the standout player for the Men in Blue. He scored 98 runs in 98 balls to help propel India to a respectable score of 225. While this was not the highest of targets, India managed to bowl out West Indies for just 137 runs and won the game by a margin of 88 runs.
Shubman Gill’s maiden ODI century against Australia came on 24th September 2023 in Indore. India batted first, and Shubman Gill played a fantastic innings as an opener. Gill scored 104 runs in 97 balls at a strike rate of 107.2 to help India set a target of 400 for Australia to chase down. This turned out to be too much for the Australian cricket team, and in a bid to chase the score, they got bowled out for just 217 runs, losing the game by 182 runs.

Shubman Gill and Rohit Sharma had a fantastic opening partnership against New Zealand on 24th January 2023 in Indore. Shubman Gill ended up being the top scorer, having made 112 runs in 78 balls at a strike rate of 143.6. His innings included 13 fours and five sixes, which helped India reach a total of 385. Gill scored 116 runs in 97 balls at a strike rate of 119.6, and while this was a fantastic inning, Virat Koli played even better, scoring 166 runs while remaining not out. Shubman Gill’s only ODI century in a losing cause came against Bangladesh on 15th September 2023. Bangladesh batted first and scored 265 runs, setting a respectable target for India to chase. India lost the wicket of Rohit Sharma and Tilak Varma early on, but Gill managed to steady the ship, scoring 121 runs in 133 balls to help India inch closer to the target. It looked like India would manage to get themselves across the line but were bowled out for 259 runs on the second last ball of the inning, and Bangladesh won the game by six runs.
The Indian team managed an enthralling win against Zimbabwe on 22nd August 2022 in Harare. India batted first, and while others did well, Gill was the standout player. He scored 130 runs in 97 balls at a strike rate of 134 to help India reach a total of 289. Zimbabwe tried very hard to chase this down and came perilously close but was bowled out for 276 runs in the third last ball of the match, and India won the game by 13 runs.

Shubman Gill’s highest-ever One Day International (ODI) score came against New Zealand on 18th January 2023 in Hyderabad. This is also the only ODI double-century Gill has managed in his career. India batted first, and while Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav, and Hardik Pandya contributed a little, Gill made almost the entirety of the sore. He made 208 runs in 149 balls at a strike rate of 139.6 to help India set a target of 350 for New Zealand. The Kiwis came close but were bowled out for 337 runs, losing the game by 12 runs.
