Emre Can won the first-ever Premier League Goal of the Season award after it was officially introduced in the 2016-17 season. He won this award for his goal against Watford on 2nd May 2017. Lucas Leiva crossed the ball into the box towards Emre Can, and he produced something spectacular. He went for an audacious bicycle kick, turning mid-air to complete it, all the while keeping his eyes on the ball. He connected sweetly, and his strike managed to find its way past Heurelho Gomes. This goal was awarded the 2016-17 Premier League Goal of the Season award.
Soufiane Boufal won the Premier League Goal of the Season award for his incredible individual effort against West Brom on 21st October 2017. Boufal received the ball in midfield, and at first, it looked like he had nowhere to go. However, after a few quick turns, he managed to get away from a group of three West Brom players. He continued running towards the opposition goal, beating three more in the process before taking a shot from the right of the edge of the box and scoring. This was decided to be the Premier League Goal of the Season for the 2017-18 season.
Andros Townsend scored an absolute screamer against Manchester City in the 2018-19 Premier League season. Patrick van Aanholt whipped a freekick into the box, but it was easily cleared by Manchester City’s defence. After a bit of a mix-up, Bernardo Silva headed the ball away, but it went directly to Andros Townsend. The Crystal Palace player decided to volley the ball with his left leg. He connected with the ball perfectly, and it flew into the top corner past Ederson. This screamer won the 2018-19 Premier League Goal of the Season award.

Son Heung-min’s goal against Burnley on 7th December 2019 was simply individual brilliance. Son received the ball just outside his own team’s box. Burnley had sent many players to attack and appeared a little thin at the back. Son thought this would be the perfect opportunity to hit them with a counterattack and set off with a mind-blowing pace.

He simply kept running, dodging flying tackles and fitting through gaps, until he ran the full length of the pitch and found himself face-to-face with Burnley’s keeper. Son composed himself and managed to get the ball past the keeper to complete one of the best individual goals in Premier League history. This goal was awarded the Premier League Goal of the Season award for the 2019-20 season.

Erik Lamela attempted something absolutely ridiculous in the ‘North London Derby’ in 2021. In a game between Arsenal and Tottenham on 14th March 2021, Lamela scored a goal with a rabona kick. What made this goal even better was that Lamela’s shot managed to nutmeg Thomas Partey before finding its way past Bernd Leno and nestling into the bottom corner. Lamela was awarded the 2020-21 Premier League Goal of the Season.
Mohamed Salah scored an absolute blinder against Manchester City on 3rd October 2021. Curtis Jones passed the ball to Mohamed Salah on the right flank. With his quick feet, Salah managed to easily get past three Manchester City players. He made his way into the box and faked going left and going right to send Laporte the wrong way. From a very steep angle, he used his right leg to finish sweetly into the bottom corner. This goal was awarded the 2021-22 Premier League Goal of the Season award.

Julio Enciso scored a fantastic goal against Manchester City on 24th May 2023. Levi Colwill passed the ball to Julio Enciso in the midfield. Manchester City players gave him too much space, and he regretted it soon after. He took a couple of touches, and seeing Manchester City defenders back down, he decided to take a shot. He struck the ball very cleanly with his right foot, and the shot nestled right into the top right corner. This beautiful goal was awarded the 2022-23 Premier League Goal of the Season award.

Alejandro Garnacho’s bicycle kick against Everton on 26th November 2023 is one of the best goals scored in Premier League history. Diogo Dalot crossed the ball into the box from the right flank. The ball was behind any Manchester United player, and it looked like a wasted cross. However, Garnacho had other ideas. He backtracked towards the ball and, with his back to the goal, attempted an audacious overhead kick. He connected perfectly with the ball, and it flew into the top left corner of the net. This goal won the 2023-24 Premier League Goal of the Season award.
