However, the most profitable clause in David Beckham’s MLS contract is yet to be discussed. He asked the league to add a clause allowing him to purchase an MLS club for $25 Million after he retired. The league more than happily agreed to this deal without thinking about the future. After Beckham retired, he activated this clause and bought an expansion club for just $25 Million when others were paying much more for it.
This club was approved by MLS in 2018 and launched in 2020. They have played in the MLS ever since under the name of Inter Miami. The club made a very profitable move in 2023. They signed Lionel Messi and brought the Argentine to the MLS. This boosted the value of the club even further. The club’s value as of 2024 is estimated to be $1.03 Billion. Yes, you read it right, the club David Beckham bought for just $25 Million is now worth over $1 Billion. Talk about making a good investment. Due to these investments and future planning, David Beckham has now accumulated a net worth of over $450 Million.
