17:08 PM IST- Player of the match has his say!

Mohammad Rizwan, “Luckily, the fifty was in the semifinal. Babar and I were struggling but we worked hard and believed. We kept fighting. When we finished the powerplay, we knew one of us had to bat deep as it was a tricky pitch.”

16:59 PM IST- PAKISTAN are into the FINALS!

Shan Masood scores the winning runs as Pakistan record a seven wicket win to make it into the finals of the World Cup 2022. What a journey it has been for the for the Men in Green who made it to the semi finals of the tournament on the basis of a massive upset that saw South Africa lose to Netherlands on the final day of the Super 12 stage.

The Pakistan batter is angry with himself as he fails to finish the game for his side. Pakistan need just 2 runs off the last over to make it into the finals of the ICC T20 World Cup 2022. Finn Allen take the catch to get the third wicket.

16:50 PM IST- Ferguson smashed!

Mohammad Haris smashes the NZ speedster for a four before following it up with a huge six! 13 runs come off that over as Pakistan now need just 8 runs from 12 balls.

16:45 PM IST- Rizwan departs!

The Pak star hits it straight to the fielder off a high full toss which was checked to be a no-ball. However, New Zealand managed to run him out at the non-striker’s end. Either way the full toss stands as Rizwan is declared out caught by Ferguson.

16:37 PM IST- Closing on the win!

Pakistan need just 26 runs off the last 4 overs and are slotted comfortably to make it in the finals of the ICC T20 World Cup 2022. 

16:29 PM IST- Rizwan gets his 50!

The Pak opener brings up his half century off just 36 balls after seeing a few close calls go in his favor while NZ waste their reviews. 113-1 after 14 overs.

16:24 PM IST- NZ FINALLY get a break through

Babar Azam departs as he is caught out by Mitchell at long-on off Boult’s bowling! The Pak skipper walks back after scoring 53 off 42 balls as Mohammad Haris walks out to bat. 109-1 after 13 overs.

16:20 PM IST- 100 run stand up for Pakistan 

Ish Sodhi concedes just 5 runs off the 12th over as Azam and Rizwan bring up their 100-run stand. Pakistan in pole position to record a 10 wicket win at the Sydney Cricket Ground. 

16:16 PM IST- 50 for Babar!

The Pakistan skipper announces his return to from in some style as he managed to score his half century off just 38 balls! 98-0 after 11 overs.

16:10 PM IST- Halfway Stage

Pakistan are cruising at the half way stage and its’ game to lose from here. New Zealand struggling BIG TIME at the Sydney Cricket Ground right now.  87-0 after 10 overs.

16:04 PM IST- Pakistan running away with the game!

The first wicket stand is already worth 75 runs with just nine overs bowled so far! New Zealand will have to to do something soon and break the partnership ASAP. 

15:58 PM IST- Azam-Rizwan going strong!

Both batters are sitting at 30 runs against their name. While Babar took 24 balls to reach the score, Rizwan managed to do it in just 19 balls! Pakistan are 68-0 after 8 overs.

15:54 PM IST- End of powerplay

Pakistan have score 55 runs off the first six overs and are now comfortably positioned to pocket an easy win and secure a spot in the finals of the ICC T20 World Cup 2022.

15:46 PM IST- Pakistan get going!

The Men in Green have managed to score 47 runs off the first five overs with Babar Azam 19 (16)and Mohammad Rizwan 27(14) playing with a lot of aggression. Looks like they want to wrap up the game in a hurry.

Tim Southee fared well in the second over, conceding just 2 runs off it before the Men in Green took on Trent Boult. Mohammad Rizwan smashed three boundaries as the third over goes for 15 runs! Pakistan are 24-0  after 3 overs

15:30 PM IST- Babar Azam Dropped!

Devon Conway fails to keep hold off the ball after the Pakistan skipper edges it straight back to the wicket-keeper. The missed chance could prove to be quite costly for the Kiwis. 7-0 after the first over! 

15:25 PM IST- Second innings underway

Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam are at the crease for Pakistan with Trent Boult set to bowl the first over for New Zealand. He will be eager to provide his side with a good start. 

15:16 PM IST- New Zealand end with 152 on board

A fighting innings from Daryll Mitchell propels the Kiwis to a 150+ score after a slow start to their innings. Pakistan will be very happy with the target and back themselves.

15:10 PM IST- 50 up for Mitchell

Daryll Mitchell has been one of the best batters for New Zealand against Pakistan. he brings up his half century in just 32 balls, as Black Caps move to 144-4 at the end of 19 overs. 

15:06 PM IST- Shah concedes 10!

New Zealand manage to get 10 runs off the 18th over and move to 133-4 with 12 balls left in the innings. Daryl Mitchell 46(29) will be eyeing to take his team’s score past the 150-run mark. 

14:59 PM IST- Williamson walks back

Shaheen Shah Afridi gets the wicket of NZ Skipper with Williamson walking back after scoring 46 off 42 balls. Just one shot away from his 50! Solid bowling by the speedster to bring Pakistan back into the game. 123-4 after 17 overs.

14:53 PM IST- NZ survive a few scares

A near miss run out, citing a small error from Haris Rauf while a mistime hit of Mitchell falls just inches away from the Pakistan fielder.  A few lucky movements for New Zealand in the 16th over as they propel to 116-3 

14:45 PM IST- Shaheen Afridi brought back

Babar Azam has brought back Shaheen Shah Afridi into the attack for the 15th over after there was a hint of reverse swing earlier. It remains interesting to see what the NZ batters do.

14:43 PM IST- Pakistan in front? 

New Zealand are 99-3 at the end of 14 overs as the Kiwis look to keep the momentum going. However, Pakistan seem to be in control and look to have a plan in place for the Black Caps. 

14:36 PM IST- Williamson goes big!

The NZ skipper takes on Mohammad Wasim Jr and hits him for a massive six over mid-wicket on the first ball of the over. Later, Azam takes a review for an LBW appeal which sees the ball miss the stumps by miles with no bat involvement as well.

14:30 PM IST- 14 runs off the over!

Daryll Mitchell smashes Shadab Khan for 2 boundaries as the Kiwis manage to eke out 14 runs off it. Much need over for the Kiwis.73-3 after 11 overs.  

14:23 PM IST- Halfway stage

Pakistan will consider themselves to be in the drivers seat at the end of the first 10 overs. They have conceded just 59 runs off the first 60 balls while claiming 3 crucial wickets.   

14:16 PM IST- Spin does the trick!

Mohammad Nawaz strikes off the last ball of his over by completing a simple caught and bowled to dismiss the dangerous Glenn Phillips. NZ lose their third wicket as Daryll Mitchell walks out to bat. 59-3 after eight overs. 

14:12 PM IST- Azam opts for spin

Shadab Khan is brought into the attack straight after powerplay. He does well against  Glenn Phillips, conceding just six runs off his first over.  Mohammad Nawaz will bowl the eighth over as Pak aim to bowl spin from both ends.

14:07 PM IST- NZ lose their second wicket

New Zealand have the lowest dot ball percentage in this World Cup as they have managed to take singles and keep the scoreboard ticking. The same skill is on display in the semi final but it eventually hurts them. Shadab Khan with a brilliant piece of fielding makes a direct-hit at the bowler’s end as Conway falls short of the ground! The opener departs on the last ball of overplay as the Black Caps are 38-2 after 6 overs.   

14:01 PM IST- Solid fielding by Pakistan

The Men in Green have been excellent in the outfield today, not allowing any easy singles and creating creating pressure on the NZ batters with their fielding.  Meanwhile Wasim bowls the fifth over and concedes just seven runs of it. Kiwis in trouble as the boundaries have dried up. 

13:55 PM IST- Rauf bought into the attack

The speedster comes on to bowl the fourth over of the game and does quite well against Williamson and Conway with the NZ skipper having some issues with the sightscreen. Just four runs of that over. 23-1! Good start for Pakistan. 

13:49 PM IST- 2nd over for Shaheen!

Just 5 runs off the third over sees Shaheen Shah Afridi’s figure sit at 2-0-11-1 ! Meanwhile, a good summary of the first over of this match..

13:45 PM IST- Naseem Shah takes the second new ball

Conway manages to hit Shah for a four after carefully playing the first three balls of the over! Same result on the sixth ball as NZ move to 14-1 after 2 overs. 

13:36 PM IST- What a start!

Finn Allen hits Shaheen Shah Afridi for a four off the very first ball before taking a successful review to overturn an LBW dismissal! However, the third ball works for the Pak speedster as he manages to trap the NZ opener straight up. No review to save Allen this time around.  Kiwis lose their first wicket. 6-1 after the first over. 

13:30 PM IST- And we are off!

Devon Conway and Finn Allen are at the crease with Shaheen Shah Afridi taking the new ball for the Men in Green at the Sydney Cricket Ground. Allen  to face the first ball!

13:25 PM IST- Minutes away from live action!

The stands are still filling in  as fans are excited for the first semi final of the ICC T20 World Cup 2022. All the players are out on the field and as await the national anthems of both teams.

13:17 PM IST- How important is that toss?

New Zealand captain Kane Williamson spoke on about the 22 yards and was quoted saying, “Used surface, not much grass on it.”  Babar Azam also echoed the thought and said, “Even we would have batted first. We’ll try to take advantage of the early conditions and put pressure on them. “

New Zealand vs Pakistan Live Updates, ICC T20 World Cup 2022 Semi Final 1, Ball To Ball Commentary, Match Details And More: The culmination of the Super 12 phase of the ICC T20 World Cup ended on Sunday and witnessed a dramatic upsets as we head into the two semi-final fixtures of the tournament. The first clash in the final four sees Asian giants Pakistan square off against New Zealand at the Sydney Cricket Ground in Sydney. This fixture is set to be played on 9th November 2022 and handed a kick-off time of 7:00 PM local time, which translates to 1: 30 PM IST.

New Zealand vs Pakistan ICC T20 World Cup 2022 Preview

New Zealand will head into the game as one of the most consistent sides in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2022. The Kiwis started off the competition with a massive win over Australia in their tournament opener. However, their next clash against Afghanistan was abandoned without a ball being bowled due to rain. 

The Black Caps bounced back in the winning ways against Sri Lanka before suffering a 20-run loss to England in their fourth outing. In the end, a 35-run win over Ireland in the 37th Match of the Super 12 stage was enough to seal a top spot in Group 1 and cement a semi-final slot for the Kiwis.

Pakistan had the worst possible start to the tournament, having lost two of the opening encounters. The Men in Green suffered back-to-back losses against India and Zimbabwe, which made their chances of qualification quite slim. However, consecutive wins against Netherlands, South Africa, and Bangladesh saw Babar Azam’s men progress further in the tournament.
