Not only this, but the players or the board, I am not sure who they were targeted Danish Kaneria for being a Hindu. Speaking to the ‘Samaa’ channel on 27th December 2017, Kaneria stated that “few players made remarks about him behind his back”.
“(But) I never made an issue of it. I just ignored them because I wanted to focus on my cricket and bring victories for Pakistan,” he said.
“Look, I am a proud Hindu and Pakistani. I want to make it clear here don’t try to portray our cricket fraternity in Pakistan negatively because there are a lot of people who have supported me and backed me regardless of my religion,” he added.
Back then, Ahmed Shahzad, too, asked Dilshan for conversion! In Dambulla, Sri Lanka, Shehzad was seen on camera advising Dilshan, “if you are a non-Muslim and you turn Muslim, no matter what you do in your life, straight to heaven,” as the players were making their way back to the locker room.
The response from Dilshan could not be heard, so Shehzad said, “Then prepare for the fire.” Looking at these incidents, I don’t think that the news from the sources can’t be true! I hope you understand what I am saying!
