According to various reports, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is expected to replace Ramiz Raja as the chairman of the cricket governing council in the upcoming federal cabinet meeting. It is also believed that Asad Ali Khan could also be kicked off from the Board of Governors (BoG).
The above-mentioned rumors had pooped up a while ago before dying out. However, they seemed to have resurfaced once again and could see Pakistan Cricket make changes in the team currently running the apex cricket governing body of the country.

Raja was earlier rumored to walk away from his position by resigning after the political turmoil in Pakistan which led to Imran Khan’s departure as the Prime Minister of the country. PCB’s current chairman is said to have received backing by a high-ranking official who did not mind seeing the former cricketer call the shots in PCB.
However, latest reports have revealed that several high-ranking officials now have agreed to the idea of replacing Ramiz Raja. Shehbaz Sharif, the current Prime Minister of Pakistan, is also said to have already met with the likes of Zaka Ashraf, Najam Sethiand and Khalid Mahmood.
The trio is expected to be amongst the list of the potential candidates who would be in the running for the PCB chairman role. The top priority of the new Pakistan Cricket board chairman is expected to be making changes in their domestic level setup. It has been an area of concern for quite some time and could finally be sorted out.
According to Article 47 of the boards’ constitution, Pakistani’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will be responsible for announcing the new PCB chairman. The same procedure was followed last time around which saw Imran Khan break news of Ramiz Raja being confirmed as the new chairman of PCB.
PCB has also been in the news for being pretty vocal with their reaction after BCCI secretary Jay Shah made the announcement of proposing a two-and-a-half-month window in International Cricket Council’s (ICC) upcoming Future Tour Programme (FTP).
They are expected to bring it up in the next ICC board meeting which is scheduled to take place in July. PCB would be looking to gain support from various other cricket boards while discussing the proposal during the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham.
