Mumbai vs Oman Team Update, Mumbai Team Announced for Oman Tour, Check Details Here: Mumbai team has to tour Oman for a series of three ODIs and three T20 matches, for which Shams Mulani has been elected as the captain of Mumbai. Shivam Dube and Yashasvi Jaiswal have been included in the 14-man squad led by Mulani. Most of the big players from Mumbai’s team are not available due to the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021.

RR have released Dube and Yashasvi from their camp for the Oman tour. Team selector Salil Ankola told The Times of India, “The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) has requested RR to release these players from their camps for this tour and the franchise has agreed to this. These players will be eligible for this tour. Will later join RR’s camp in UAE.”

An MCA official said that the team will leave for Oman on August 19 and will return on September 3 after completing the tour. The T20 series will start with the first match on 22nd August. After this, the matches of the ODI series will be played on 29th August, 31st August and 2nd September.

This Series Is Quite Important For Oman

This will be the first series under the new coach Amol Majumdar. The tour will be useful for Mumbai ahead of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy which begins in October. On the other hand, the series is going to be important for Oman as well. The T20 World Cup is to be held in Oman and UAE in October-November. Oman is in Group B for World Cup qualification. This time Bangladesh, Papua New Guinea and Scotland have been placed in their group.

Mumbai, the defending champions of the Vijay Hazare Trophy, will try to use this series against Oman to prepare for the upcoming competitions.

Salil Ankola highlighted that the Oman tour will give Mumbai good practice to prepare for the domestic tournaments. Ankola said, “It is good that Oman has invited us for this tour”.

“Cricket is not possible in Mumbai due to rain. This tour will give our boys good match practice. This will help us prepare for the limited-overs phase of the domestic season”. Meanwhile, this will be Majumdar’s first tour as head coach of Mumbai.
