Till the tea break, England’s score was 138/4 in 50.2 overs. Root was playing on 52 runs. England won the toss and invited India to bowl first. After the toss, the English captain said that their team will bat first. Root further added that there is little movement on the wicket. If the team starts well in the first hour, they can use it to their advantage. It’s exciting to play a big series like this. Hope we do well. 

At the same time, Indian captain, Kohli said, “Last time England decided to bowl first and we wanted to bat first. We would like to do well with the ball in the first session and try to get some early breakthroughs. It is rare to win in England and Australia in the same year.”

India and England clashed in test matches earlier this year. When the English team visited India, they played in a four-test series in the February-March period. England won the first test by 227 runs, but later the Indian team made a spectacular comeback to take the series 3-1. India won the second test by 317 runs, the third match by 10 wickets and the fourth by an innings and 25 runs. Now India will be tested for the English conditions. Indian team last played a test series in England in the year 2018, in which it had to face a 4-1 defeat at the hands of the British.
