3 Changes India Could Make For The Final ODI Against Zimbabwe

The KL Rahul led Indian cricket team registered yet another series win after recording victories in the first two matches against Zimbabwe. The Men in Blue are now set to play their final match of the ongoing white ball series at the Harare Sports Club on Monday. With the series already in bag, the visitors will look to test the bench and give a few players an opportunity to feature in the playing XI. Let’s look at 3 changes the Indian team could look to make for the final ODI.

Indian team captain KL Rahul did not get a chance to impress with the bat in the first two ODIs. The skipper did not get a chance to bat in the first game with Subhmann Gill and Shikhar Dhawan got the job done with great as comfort in the tournament opener. Rahul was back in the hut after playing just 5 balls in the 2nd game, courtesy of Zimbabwe bowler Victor Nyauchi.

How will India line up against Zimbabwe?

The 31-year-old will look to get some time to bat in the last ODI and has indicated that he could very well open the innings once again. With the skipper likely to slot back on the top, questions ponder over the game time for the likes of Rahul Tripathi and Ruturaj Gaikwad with both the batters warming the bench so far in the series.

On the bowling front, the Men in Blue could look to bring back Deepak Chahar into the playing XI. The speedster who came back to competitive cricket after a long injury lay off impressed in the first game. But, was rested for the second ad could well be tested more in the final ODI with Thakur likely to make way.

Axar Patel returned with good figures in the second game and will want to build on such good performances. However, the left-arm spinner could be rested for the last game, giving the opportunity to Shahbaz Ahmed with the Bengal based all rounder likely to make his debut for the Indian national team. VVS Laxman could also experiment by dropping either of Prasidh Krishna or Mohammed Siraj and play Avesh Khan.

Predicted Playing XI
