Zarvan Tumboli Ships ‘Poker For A Cause’ Tournament


Siddhanth Kapoor in association with PokerHigh hosted the ‘Poker For A Cause’ tournament on 30 May at 6 PM. Zarvan Tumboli aka ‘Pakiya13’ shipped this tournament. He was followed by Dhirendra Kumar aka ‘Dhiru911.’ Zarvan finished with 28,158 chips and Kumar was quite close with 20,286 chips.

While Talking about winning the tournament, Tumboli said, “Played an online tournament after months literally for Sid and to support this cause. It is not about the money but it feels good to ship one for a cause and do my bit.” The tournament had 92 entries in total and the top 9 players were paid min-cash. The buy-in for this tournament was ₹1,500 out of which ₹1,050 went into the prize pool and the remaining will be utilized for the cause.

This tournament was hosted to raise money for hospital beds in Unao, Uttar Pradesh. Kapoor has raised ₹15 Lakhs so far and through initiatives like this one, he plans to raise even more money. The tournament was supported by an NGO Pudhiya Udhayam, charitable organization CUPA (Compassion Unlimited Plus Action), and Golden Goose Sports Private Limited

Several Bollywood celebrities also took part in this charitable tournament. Poker players Harman Baweja, Harsh Kapoor, Anita Hassanandani, Raj Kundra, and Siddhanth Kapoor actively participated in this tournament. Hassanandani managed to clinch the fourth spot.

The Indian poker community has been lending a helping hand for the COVID-19 relief work in the form of several tournaments. Top brands like PokerBaazi, Spartan Poker, Poker Bootcamp India, etc. conducted high-value tournaments to support this cause. Other than poker platforms, players like Ramesh Rao Thotapalli, Smita Agarwalla, Kunal Patni, Sriharsha Doddapaneni, etc. have made several contributions in recent times for the COVID-19 relief work.
