WSOPE: Kahle Burns wins Event #8 Platinum High Roller


Undoubtedly, the journey towards the final table was fierce. Hoping to make another addition to his poker career, the current WSOP Main Event champion Hossein Ensan fell short stack only to finish way earlier in the Event #8: €25,500 Platinum High Roller No-Limit Hold’em. High-Roller specialist Kahle Burns made the most of the given opportunity by taking away his first career bracelet in WSOPE at King’s Casino.

The entire tournament attracted 83 players, further narrowing down to 6 to play the final day. Ultimately, this brought Burns the greatest opportunity to win his first-ever gold bracelet. However, other players including Alex Foxen was the first to bust out at the showdown, finishing 6th for €95,962, bracelet winner Timothy Adams falling at 5th place for €128,362, while Britain’s Sam Trickett was playing against Burns in heads-up, battling for the prestigious gold bracelet.

However, Trickett began the day with a short stack and quickly shot up the leaderboard knocking out Adams followed by Hakim Zoufri allowing him to jump over Burns to take the lead. The final hand of the tournament saw Trickett holding 7s 4s against Burns’ Ks 4d and the board ran Jd Jh 5s 9h Js. The latter with King high ran to grab the enormous amount €596,883 and the WSOP bracelet. The Australian Burns is 3rd in Australia’s All-Time money list, with this win his total live earnings have now soared up to over $6.43 million.

Siamak Tooran triumphs Event #6 Short Deck High Roller NLH

Two days ago, another champion was crowned in Europe’s biggest on-going festival at the King’s Casino. The Short Deck High Roller NLH saw a field 111 entries, each chipping in €25,500 buy-in. It was Germany’s Siamak Tooran who walked away for the lion’s share of €2.6 million prize pool.

The final hand of the tournament saw Tooran up against Vietnam’s Thai Ha and this was it for the latter, the fate was in favour of Tooran who held ace-king while Ha shoved ace-seven. He took home the ambitious prize money of €740,996 along with his first-ever gold bracelet.

Tomas Fara wins Event #7 Turbo Bounty Hunter NLH

At 4 pm it was time for the seventh bracelet tournament final day to kick off. The entire event saw 377 entries which couldn’t crush the previous year’s record of 387 entries, eventually, the top 57 places witnessed a paycheck of minimum €1,099. Czech Republic’s Tomas Fara emerged victoriously to complete a comeback from one big blind, taking away his career first bracelet along with €59,904 prize money as well as the bounties.

The event attracted all big names including bracelet winner Anson Tsang, 2-time bracelet winner Phil Hui, 4-time bracelet winner Shaun Deeb, Event #2 PLO winner Dash Dudley followed by 15-time bracelet winner Phil Hellmuth. Also, the only player representing India Ankit Ahuja busted in the earlier stages of the event.
