The ultimate poker tournament, World Series of Poker (WSOP) 2021, is now less than four months away. All the poker pros around the world are excited and all set to make their way to Las Vegas and the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino for the WSOP 2021.
The organizers have so far released the dates for the 2021 edition of the annual tournament. The WSOP 2021 is all set to take place from September 30th, 2021 until November 23rd, 2021.
Usually the tournament is held during the summers, from May to July, however this year the organizers have ditched the summer months and opted for the fall instead. The tradition of hosting the events during May to July was practiced since the mid-2000s. However, this year’s events will break the pattern. Last year’s season witnessed a total 101 events including 87 live events and 14 online events.

The WSOP officials are yet to announce the detailed schedule for the 2021 events, for which the poker aficionados are eagerly waiting. It’s to be noted that in 2020 too, the officials had announced the 101 event schedule in stages. The key weekend and signature events along with the $10,000 championship events were announced in December 2019. The announcement of 24 tournaments in the ‘Value Menu‘ and six in the ‘Freezeout Series‘ came later during January 2020. So this year too, the officials are likely to announce more details in stages from time to time.
Among the limited information released so far are details about the opening weekend of the 2021 WSOP. The opening weekend will feature ‘The Reunion’ No-Limit Hold’em event with a $50,00,000 guarantee and the $25,000 H.O.R.S.E. event. Additionally, a charity event for the frontline health workers will also be a part of the opening weekend.
The ultimate WSOP 2021 Main Event will start on Thursday, November 4th, 2021 and continue until Wednesday, November 17th, 2021. There will be four starting flights which will take place between November 4th and 7th. More details are expected to be released by the officials on WSOP.com.
